Veterinary Nursing

 

Objectives and Skills

Train qualified technicians with technical and scientific capacity to be able to provide services in the various aspects of Veterinary Nursing, having to be able to:

  • provide services in the various aspects of veterinary nursing, in the execution of auxiliary diagnostic means, in the practice of anesthesiology and surgery, welfare, food and animal husbandry, in species of livestock interest and in companion animals, including exotics.
  • carry out various tasks in support of Veterinary Medicine, be integrated into teams of clinical practice, under the guidance of veterinarians, whether in other technological sectors related to Veterinary Medicine: support for the activity of veterinary clinics, production and drug distribution, veterinary public health, animal beauty centers and petshops, farms engaged in livestock production and natural and zootechnical parks.

The future graduate will have skills in several areas such as: companion animals, animal nutrition and food, animal anatomy and morphology, animal pathology, clinical analysis, medical nursing of companion animals, aesthetic care, animal behavior, emergencies and intensive care.
